Help! Animal control is in need of volunteers! We need people to pop in during regular volunteer hours to walk the dogs and give them lots of love, attention, and baths! First-time volunteers need to come on Monday or Friday between 11 and 3 pm. That way, an animal caretaker is here to show you around. If you have volunteered before, you can come on another business day anytime between 11:00 – 3:00. Some days the poor pound pups don’t get let out of their pens at all! They need you! Volunteers can come and leave on their own schedule as many or as few times per month as they want. Please call animal control at 706 613-3540 for more information. Just think, you may be the only person to give these dogs a walk, a hug, or a treat. They need you!
We are also in need of dedicated, regular volunteers to assist with our website. We are particularly looking for individuals who are willing to make a trip to the shelter every few weeks, take pictures of the dogs, write up the stories, and post online. At times, it can be a demanding although highly rewarding job, so only serious inquiries please. If you are interested, have questions, or would like to fill out an application to volunteer please click on the link below. Whether your gift to our dogs is a donated item above or your time, it is all appreciated by the homeless pups we have at our shelter!
